Week 2

Things to consider with print:
- Photos for print should be "Resolution 300ppi"
- Color Mode CMYK
- File Format = TIFF (highest quality for print and no compression)

Illustrator Graphics to Import to InDesign:
- Should be EPS = encapsulated post script which is mathematically based and maintains quality
- If using GIF or PNG, only use for transparency

Here is my rewritten story:
In a world plagued by rasterized fog, there was only one person who could rid it of its pixels
and create a clearer world. Hi I’m Vector Vision, my friends and family know me as Grace,
but a few months ago I was granted the power to vectorize away the pixels of fog. Now you
may be asking, “How does no one know they are living amongst this fog?” Well they have lived
their whole lives plagued by this pixelated fog and unknowing of the beauty that is vectorizing.

It all started when I walked in a coffee shop to grab breakfast. While walking out I bumped into
a guy (and obviously apologized), then went about my day like I normally did. I had no idea that
this would be the day that changed my life forever. Finally my day was over and I was home. I
went to unload my bag and looked in to see glasses which was weird because I have never
owned a pair of glasses in my life. They looked pretty ordinary, but as I turned them I saw an
engraving on the side. The engraving was AI. Who is this AI and why’d I get there glasses?
Well, I thought I should try the glasses on anyway to see how I looked. What’s the harm in that right?

I closed my eyes before the big reveal of my “new look,” then placed the glasses on. Once I
opened my eyes, everything became clear (and I looked good in my pair of glasses). I was
shocked and spun around my room just to see everything that was once pixelated become clear.
It all looked smoother, colors ran together ever so beautifully and they were no longer blocked together
the way they had been all my life.

I ran downstairs because I had to tell my Mom the news. However, I got slightly distracted
because I could not stop looking around at each and every room. My Mom was sitting in the living
room watching television and did not say anything about my new look. Maybe the glasses were invisible
to my Mom? Could she see what I was seeing without these glasses? So I decided to point to the
television and say to her, “Look at the colors, curves lines and so much more! Can you see it?!”
As soon as I pointed, POOF the pixels began to merge together to create the beautiful movement of
color and line that she had seen all around her. I watched her eyes light up at what I had seen just
moments before. I ran out the door before my Mom could question this new discovery.

A million questions raced through my mind. What more could I do with this new discovery?
What happens in the fog that people do not even see? All I know is that I wanted to continue to show
people how the world really looked. While observing the beauty around me, I placed my hands in my
pockets to find a note. The note said, “You are Vector Vision. Help the world that is fogged by rasterizing
to become a little clearer. -AI”

Week 1

For the first project I first wanted to do a superhero that had the power to help people think outside the box. The next idea I had was to design a superhero that had a power for pattern.

Here are some name ideas:

Creative Challenger

Problem-Solving Protector

Pattern Perfectionist

Bold idea creator

Epic Idea Creator

After this I ended up thinking more into a broader idea for a power and landed on Vectorizing things. The idea that the superhero would make things clearer with changing pixels to vectors.

Here is my story:

Vector Vision

As a little girl, Grace, never understood why everything seemed a little out of focus.
Everytime she mentioned this to friends and family, they would look at her confused and thought
everything was already clear. For years, Grace tried to find at least one person who saw the world
as out of focus, but she never could and started to give up. Until one day, when she was walking and
came across Alexander Iris. She had never met him before, but he seemed to be a little clearer than
everyone and everything else. Grace walked over to him to see if she had known him from somewhere
else. She introduced herself and he did as well, then she asked him like she did everyone else if he saw
the world like she did. He did not have the same reaction of confusion as the others did, but simply
reached into his bag and took out a pair of glasses with his initials AI. He told her that he had been
waiting for someone to ask him that exact question and told her the glasses will explain everything.
Grace looked down at the glasses examining them and looking closely at the engraving. When she
looked back up Alexander was gone.

After the strange meeting with Alexander, Grace took the glasses home with her and placed
them in her drawer. She went to a couple of days without using the glasses, until she came home
one day and the glasses were sitting on her bed. She decided to finally try them, hoping they would
make things clearer as Alexander had told her the day they met. As she reached them to her face
she started to see things more in focus and less pixelated. She ran out the door and began walking
around the neighborhood just viewing everything she had seen for years blurry now change to being
in more focus. She was in awe and wished that everyone could see things through the lenses of her
glasses.

After a few days of exploring with the glasses, Grace wondered if she could have any of her friends
and family use them too. She went up to her friend with the glasses on and at first her friend did not
recognize who she was. Instead of explaining, she asked the same question she had before, “does
that look blurry” and pointed at an object. All of a sudden the object morphed to become clear rather
than its normal pixelated self. Her friend was in shock and asked “are you a superhero?” Grace did not
know how to explain it, so she just replied with a yes.

Grace rushed home and went straight to her bedroom. She saw a note on her bed and opened it up
immediately. It said, “You are Vector Vision. Help the world that is fogged by rasterizing become a little
clearer. -AI” She was in shock, but could not wait to use her power to show everyone pieces of what
she could see and fight the crime that happens in the fog.

Notes from peers:
Bumped into someone and glasses were in pocket with AI

Minimize the introduction and lead more into power with what she does
